Recommendations of the 56th GST Council Meeting – 3rd September 2025

The 56th meeting of the GST Council was convened in New Delhi on 3rd September 2025, under the chairpersonship of the Union Finance & Corporate Affairs Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman.

The GST Council deliberated on a wide range of issues and made several important recommendations aimed at easing compliance, rationalizing tax rates, and providing relief to the common man and businesses.

🔹 Facilitation of Trade – Steps to streamline GST compliance and remove bottlenecks for trade and industry were discussed and approved.
🔹 Clarifications through FAQs – The Council also decided to issue FAQs on several aspects of GST law to resolve taxpayer queries and minimize litigation.
